Scholarships

 

SEDA College (SA) and our partners are pleased to announce that Scholarships are available for Year 11 and 12 Students in South Australia for the 2025 academic year. Scholarship applications are welcome by any students who are offered a place within one of our programs.

Scholarships are open to all SEDA applicants who meet the criteria. Additionally, there are Indigenous Scholarships available. Indigenous young people who are passionate about sport are highly encouraged to apply.

 

The three Scholarships available are Excellence, Equity and First Nations.

 

 As a Scholarship student, in addition to completing senior secondary education with the College, will have the opportunity to undertake high-quality personal development at the College.

 

This development will be accessible in a supportive learning environment that enables all to build up a portfolio of work and academic skills, through hands on learning, linked strongly to the sport and recreation industry. Further, all will have significant opportunities to develop networks, unique experiences and create a planned, personalised and suitable pathway to employment and/or higher education.

Excellence

SEDA College SA’s Excellence Scholarships are designed for Year 11 and Year 12 students who can demonstrate authentic excellence in one or more specific categories. 

 

Categories may include:

  • Genuine elite-level participation and performance in a sport

  • An ability to demonstrate exceptionally high potential in leadership

  • An ability to be an ambassadorial member of the student body

  • An ability to demonstrate high potential for exceptional outcomes academically

  • An ability to demonstrate support to and promoting of wellbeing within a school and/or sports community

Excellence Scholarship Applications have a 2-stage process:

Stage 1 – Written Application
Stage 2 – Scholarship Interview (Presentation)

  • If successful in Stage 1, your application will progress to Stage 2.  Successful applicants will then be invited to attend their Scholarship Interview.
  • Stage 2 provides applicants the opportunity to prepare a presentation to be delivered during their Scholarship Interview.
    • Presentations, on average, range from 5-10 minutes. Applicants can use any form of media (written, video, slideshow) for their delivery, and may include items of relevance (photos, trophies, certificates, etc).

Equity

SEDA College SA has a proud history of supporting motivated students to both gain entry into, and thrive, in their education programs – regardless of their background and individual circumstances. 

The Equity Scholarships are designed to enable Year 11 and Year 12 students to attend the College who may otherwise not be able to due to one or more factors of disadvantage. This may include a combination of the following:

  • Low family income
  • Low levels of English
  • Individual disability/ies
 
Most applicants who are awarded an Equity Scholarship are receiving Centrelink income payments.

Complete this application form, including all compulsory supporting documents. Applications close on 31st August 2024.

Applicants will receive written confirmation of the outcome of the Equity Scholarship by the end of Term 3.

First Nations

First Nations Scholarships are designed to empower young Indigenous people who are passionate about sport, dedicated to reaching their full potential and committed to using all the unique opportunities that SEDA College SA can provide.

As a scholarship student, in addition to completing senior secondary education with the College, you will have to opportunity to undertake high quality personal general opportunities at the College.
