Boys Knockout Grand Final

On Wednesday August 21, the AFL cluster classes travelled to the Woodville West Torrens Football Club to watch the SEDA boys play their knockout team’s grand-final match against St Mark’s College.

Students and staff arrived at the ground at 8.30am, meeting inside the function centre. We started the day by working on assignments and tasks with our peers before engaging in an awards session for those who participated in SEDA Cup. 2 members from each of the three teams received awards for their efforts in Perth. Each student received a photo and a medal as a reward.

We then continued working on our tasks until 12.30pm. At 12.30pm, we travelled outside, towards the oval and gathered around to watch the boys game begin.

Although the start of the game didn’t go in the boy’s favour, the boys put in an amazing effort for the remainder of the 1st quarter, as well as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, keeping a close score throughout the whole game. On multiple occasions the boys even lead on the scoreboard. The boys worked together and were met with celebrations from friends and family after every goal and successful play. Unfortunately, St Mark’s College put up an amazing fight and finished the game with a minor 3-point lead. With the final score being a total of 73-76.

The boys wrapped up the game by meeting by the benches and listening to a small speech.
