SEDA College (SA) is an Independent Senior Secondary School and provider of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). We aim to bring out the best in our students by focusing on key elements that define our unique student-centred approach.
SEDA College (SA) students experience a unique education pathway because of our relationships with several of South Australia’s leading sporting organisations. Students are involved in industry experiences they will not find anywhere else.
We develop Areas of Study and curriculum with our industry partners so that students develop the knowledge, skills and attributes of current industry professionals.
SEDA College (SA) learning occurs in genuine workplace and community settings in collaboration with teachers and industry professionals. This provides an opportunity for students to excel in multiple learning environments.
Through our applied industry-based learning approach, students acquire the skills to support future educational and employment pathways.
Our ‘one teacher’ to ‘one class’ approach allows our teachers to take on a true mentoring role, where they get the time to know students and their individual aspirations. They take the time to support students as they learn through experiences on their education journey.
Once each student’s career goals are established, they are guided to source appropriate industry placements to help them gain real world skills and training. A professional portfolio is developed, highlighting each student’s experiences and achievements specific to their individual career pathway.
Through a tailored, individual approach known as “MyPLAN”, teachers and their support staff will aid students to develop skills to set them on a pathway to success. Students will use industry specific sports technology and web-based applications to learn, whilst developing transferable skills that will provide a head start across a wide range of industries.
