SEDA College SA believes it is important for our students to develop employability skills during their time in the program. Through Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) students are given the opportunity to work in a range of organisations and experience different work roles. We have a team of students who are interested in sports journalism and are contributing to our student-led blog as part of their SWL. See below for all of the latest News & Events!

Fitness Testing With Tayla Williams

On April 3rd we had Tayla Williams come to Glandore to run fitness testing with the Netball class for The Coach project.

STEM Day with the Adelaide Crows

On the Wednesday of Week 9, Term 1, our North Adelaide AFL class visited the Adelaide Crows Football Club in West Lakes for a STEM experience.

Netball Induction - Day 1

Netball SA (NSA) invited the Glandore Netball students of 2024 to an induction day at Netball SA Stadium to teach the expected values, standards and the code of conduct that the students need to follow.

36ers Induction Day at Mitchell Park

On Friday the 8th of September, the St Clair and Mitchell Park Basketball classes were extremely lucky to have an Induction with the 36ers.

Wednesday the 9th of August was the final day of SEDA Cup. With finals in the afternoon, all students were pumped and excited for the day ahead.

In a thrilling conclusion to Term 2, both the boys’ and girls’ SEDA Football teams secured remarkable 12-0 victories over Woodville High School.

Sir Doug Nicholls Round Curtain Raiser Reconciliation Cup

On Thursday the 29th of May, the AFL students competed in the Sir Doug Nicholls Round Curtain Raiser as part of the Reconciliation Cup against Tjindu Foundation at Adelaide Oval.

Basketball Reconciliation Cup

SEDA and SAASTA Basketball Academy met at St Clair Recreational Centre to play a friendly basketball game against one another in celebration of Reconciliation Week.

On Wednesday May 17th saw the arrival of the much anticipated Statewide School Futsal Finals held at St Clair Recreation Centre.

On the 8th of June, our SACA cricket class were lucky enough to participate in the Boys Statewide Netball at Scotch College.

Fitness Improvement Task

The Mitchell Park basketball class students picked an area they thought is a weak point in their sporting skills and make an 8 week training program to improve on it.

On Tuesday April 4th saw the long-awaited arrival of the Academy Cup take place at the Gepps Cross Football State Centre.

3 X 3 Basketball at The Lights

Encouragement was seen in all different ways, from on the court, to off the court, it was a great way to get closer to each other and bond as a class.

Mitchell Park BSA 3x3 Basketball Carnival

The Mitchell Park BSA class participated in a community 3x3 Basketball carnival on the 17th of March at the Morphett Vale Rec Center.

On Wednesday February 8th saw the merging of the SEDA Football group to officialise its sporting partner induction with FSA.

Our basketball class was lucky enough to hear from the 36ers, Brett Maher, Adelaide Lightning, Reece Turner, and Lightning superstar player Marena Whittle.

Both the northern and southern class clusters met at the City Touch Football Ground to finish our multiple weeklong Touch Rugby assignments and school carnival.

Marena Whittle came in to the BSA class to run a training session and talk about her experiences playing for team Australia in the FIBA 3×3 World Cup

Boys State Basketball Finals

The game ended with the SEDA boys winning by just 4 points. The team was awarded for their efforts with state title medals taking home the win!

Uni SA / Roof Climb

Students spent the day visiting UniSA for a Sports and Recreation clinic and campus tour, followed up by a walk along to the top of Adelaide Oval.

All SEDA North classes gathered at the BSA Class campus – St Clair Recreation Center and students prepared for a touch football carnival.

The 2022 Formal was a huge highlight of the year and a great way to ease the stress off students and teachers after the first half of the year.
